    Sing We Now of Christmas

The Colorado Choir proudly presents this live recording of one of the most loved compilations of Christmas music, masterfully conducted by Kelly Parmenter.

Sing We Now of Christmas was released in 1958 when Harry Simeone was approached by 20th Century Fox to create a choral holiday album for the show, The Firestone Hour. The album popularized a song written previously by Katherine Kennecott Davis called, “Carol of the Drum.” Simeone made a few changes to the tune and arrangement and retitled it, “The Little Drummer Boy.” Then it was recorded with The Harry Simeone Chorale on the album Sing We Now of Christmas. “The Little Drummer Boy” became very popular when the album was released, with this one piece scoring on the music charts from 1958 to 1962. This collection, sometimes viewed as Christmas Cantata, remains top on many lists when considering quality choral music nearly 60 years later.
